The United States IS BEHIND chiNA with few alternatives

The US automotive industry represents 3.5% of GDP and employs more than 1.7M people, yet most EV battery cells are not made—nor are EVB materials produced—domestically.

Massive investments are being made to bring battery cell factories to the USA, but that does not solve the battery materials supply chain problem:

China makes 75% of all lithium batteries

Demand for lithium-ion batteries is set to reach 9,300 gigawatt hours in 2030, up from 526 in 2020, creating a huge market opportunity where China is the primary beneficiary.

China makes 95% of LFP cathode materials

Companies like Tesla have switched to lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) which is significantly cheaper, doesn't require nickel or cobalt, are more safe, and recyclable—but China dominates.

China makes almost 100% of anode graphite

The crystalline carbon form used for anodes, the negative end of a lithium-ion battery, is projected to increase fivefold in demand by 2030 with inconsequential competition for China.

nexgen materials bridges the supply chain gap

OUR APPROACH

1. Identify Substrate

Identify Substrate that yields a path to better and more cost competitive advanced materials required in the New Energy value chain-specifically materials expected to be in a supply vs. demand shortfall for at least 5 years.

2. Develop Sourcing

Find and create unique material sourcing advantages by building relationships with key domestic partners.

3. Innovate Technology

Work with industry and academia partners to create value added innovative technical IP that either lowers production costs or improves materials performance.

4. Capitalize & Commercialize

Assemble more cost-effective capital that leverages available economic development funds, government grants and loans, and assists our JV partnerships successfully commercialize domestic sourcing and production.
